In pursuit of my self-described Christian Businessman PhD, I am on a quest to read 100 books to increase my knowledge, exposure and intellect. These are the books I read from January 2011 through July 2012.
Generous Justice | Tim Keller
The Weight of Glory | CS Lewis
Think: The Life of Mind and the Love of God | John Piper
Poke the Box | Seth Godin | |
The Abolition of Man | CS Lewis
The Great Divorce | CS Lewis
Emotional Intelligence 2.0 | Travis Bradberry
Social Intelligence | Daniel Goleman
Kings Cross | Tim Keller | |
Love Wins | Rob Bell | |
The Imperfect Board Member | Jim Brown
The Case for Christ | Lee Strobel
Weird: Because Normal Isn’t Working | Craig Groschel
Becoming a Contagious Christian | Bill Hybels
Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln | Doris Kearns Godwin
The Screwtape Letters | CS Lewis
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance | Robert Pirsig
Heaven is for Real | Todd Burpo
1776 | David McCullough | |
Today We Are Rich | Tim Sanders
Erasing Hell: What God Said About Eternity | Francis Chan
The Shack | William P. Young
Simply Christian | NT Wright
The Grand Weaver: How God Shapes Us | Ravi Zacharias
Ministries of Mercy: The Call of Jericho Road | Tim Keller
The Grace of God | Andy Stanley
The Reason for God | Tim Keller
Beyond Foundationalism: Shaping Theology in a Postmodern Context | Stanley Grenz |
Awesome list! I can’t help but notice there are no relatively old authors… If you have read that much Lewis you will know he suggests, “it is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.”
Have you ever read John Ruskin on Economy? Try Unto This Last

Thanks for the advice Todd. Any additional suggestions beyond Ruskin?
